What we store
- Your account: an Apple ID identifier, and your name and e-mail address if you share them (including a hidden Apple relay address).
- What you set and save in the app: preferences, allergies, saved and cooked recipes, ratings and your shopping list.
- Your household, if you create or join one: its name, its members and the name you use in it, and profiles you add for people without an account (such as children). The other members see your name and, if you choose to share them, your allergies, diets, dislikes and notes, so their suggestions fit you too. You can change what you share at any time.
- Photos of your fridge or pantry, if you have them scanned ("cook with what you have"): we keep the list of recognised ingredients and the ones you confirmed. We don't keep the photos themselves, except during the beta: then they stay for at most 30 days, visible only to the administrator, to improve recognition. The app says so before you send a photo. If you delete your account, they go with it straight away.
- Technical data: a device name per session, usage times and error reports.
Why
Only to run the app: suggest recipes, sync your data between your devices and your household, and prevent abuse. We sell nothing and show no ads.
AI processing
Each AI request sends your question, your preferences and the recipe to OpenAI, which writes the suggestions and recipes and makes the images. Recipes and images made this way go into the shared recipe library without your name, so others can reuse them.
Where and how long
Data is stored on a server in the Netherlands for as long as your account exists. Backups are deleted after at most six months.
Your rights
In the app (You → Account) you can export all your data and delete your account. Deleting also revokes the link with your Apple ID.
